Additional information about Bourne House
The sale of 1893 details a 28 acre site which included “…model farm buildings, stabling, coach house, piggeries, duck & poultry houses, ornamental pleasure grounds, lawn tennis ground and enclosures of pasture/orchard land…”
Sometime in the 1950’s-60’s apartment(s) were available to- let actually in Bourne house.
Much of the grounds to the north of Bourne House (shown as glass houses in some of the early pictures) were Mr Blocks nursery.
Mr Blocks nursery was sold sometime late 1990’s to a developer who built 5 houses on what is now Golden Valley
